Working on the Manx ...

On Saturday, August 3rd, I spoke with M.O.R.E. Race Director Bill Markel. He's linked Mx4Mamm blog onto the MORE website in the "Welcome" section (www.moreracing.net) and onto his Facebook page (Bonfire Racing). Thanks Bill!

Currently we're working on purchasing a fuel cell and some other safety items. With the race only two months away, race prep on the car is getting underway.

Thanks to Jeff Franklin and Launch Motorsports (www.LaunchMotorsports.com), I have a helmet and race suit. Next I need to purchase a pair of those fancy Crow race booties! Too bad they don't sell them in pink. I guess I'll have to settle for a sleek black pair. Or maybe red?

Welcome!

Welcome to Manx for the Mammaries!

This site was created to document my countdown to the 2013 M.O.R.E. Powder Puff race to benefit breast cancer research. I'm Carol Hake and I'll be driving our long-travel Manx during the race.

The fight against breast cancer goes on. Breast cancer is a devastating illness that affects millions of people. I’m sure it has touched each and every one of your lives in very similar ways.

I have found a way I can help the fight – by driving our buggy in the M.O.R.E. (Mohave Off-Road Racing Enthusiast) 2013 Powder Puff Race. This off-road race, held in Barstow, California in October, is a rough and rocky 20+-mile loop. Participants are challenged to make as many loops on the course as possible within the four-hour time frame. The Powder Puff is not only a special race because it’s ladies only, but the event raises money and awareness for breast cancer research.
Part of this event is fundraising. In order to reach my goal, I am asking for your support in the way of a monetary donation. Every amount, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.

This is a race of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research, and help bring breast cancer care to those who desperately need it.
Breast cancer touches so many. Help me help the fight.

Thanks in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
